Tsarskoïe Selo Hemophilarmonic's debut might have much of an outsider, it's still one to be salvaged. And dropping akin artists might not be helpful to introduce it, as talking together of Pink Floyd, David Crosby, Ligeti, Neil Young (era Dead Man), Current 93 and Chopin would likely have you wondering what kind of hellish purgatory you have stepped into. Still, you would not be far from the truth, as L'Enfant Méduse's noisy disguise is the one of a dark universe, all the while tortured and poetic, deeply inspired by its location of birth : a land scarred and hurt by industrialisation and coal working, feeding a pagan relationship to religion, and lost in schizophrenia. Out of this the belgian troubadour has crafted a strong album, lapidary and romantic. tracklist : 1.Notre-Dame de la Tombe (3:25) 2.Lamento for the sleepy angel (3:07) 3.When My Father dies like a pig (Free-for-all slaughter followed by the burlesque farandole of the cardboard men) (4:54) 4.Trauerwerk II : Come and smell the graves after rain (4:35) 5.L'ange qui a sommeil te retient par la main : Prelude op.I (5:06) 6.RedEyesStare (3:23) Total running time 28:51 number of ex. : 50, ltd release date : February 10, 2009 |
